Support Teacher Inclusive Education
Children are individuals and develop at their own rate and some children need extra support to achieve their potential. High achieving students need encouragement and opportunities to extend their learning. Children with disabilities who would once have attended special schools are now educated in mainstream schools. A Support Teacher Inclusive Education, assisted by a team of School Officers, provides for the individual educational needs of the students of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School using a variety of strategies including Individual Education Programs and one-to-one support with a School Officer. Visiting specialists, eg Speech Pathologist, also provide extra support where it is needed.
