Religious Education

"As it is the parents who have given life to their children, on them lies the gravest obligation of educating their family. They must therefore be recognised as being primarily and principally responsible for their education. The role of parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute."

(Vatican 11, Declaration on Christian Education)

Our Religious Education program is developed from the Guidelines of the Archdiocese of Brisbane and is a school-based program.

The newsletter contains information on forthcoming Liturgies and celebrations, religious feasts or concepts.

There are regular opportunities for classes to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The students from Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to Celebrate, in turn, the Eucharist at 9.00am mass on Wednesday, with the parish.

The classes from Prep to Year 2 celebrate with a Liturgy of the Word. On Special Feast days the school community gathers to celebrate with Mass in the Assembly area. Parents are welcome at all celebrations.

The Sacramental Program is organised by the Parish Sacramental Co-ordinator, contacted through the parish office - 3715 8517. The school provides the formal teaching whilst parents are required to provide faith environment and practice.
